hi everyone can ull advice me which brand cereal is good for my 6 months old baby…im going to start giving her next week.im from middle east country thank u.
Hi
Is your baby already on solid food or are you planning on starting them with baby cereal? Honestly for babies it’s better to start them on food which is not processed such as fruit and vegetables that have been steamed and mashed. Your baby can eat whatever your family eats which is much easier than having specific baby food.
Here is a good article about introducing solids.

We have started all our children on mashed pumpkin, avocado or whatever else we were having. We also added rice fairly early since we eat it several times a week. We also found that our babies always wanted what we were having anyway so it was easier and also meant that we were much more conscious of eating really healthy food which is always a good thing.
Start with rice or oat cereals to avoid allergic reactions. As far as brands go, I’m not sure what’s available where you’re at, but we prefer the ones with a screw cap instead of the pour slot on the side. It stays more airtight and spills less.
We did not start with cereal: we started with table food. But oatmeal is a good starter cereal. I have no idea what brands are available there though, sorry.
thank u for the advice…at my place i saw nestle and heizn brand…
I know my pediatrician recommended single grain cereals first. Rice then barley then oatmeal then mixed grains later. You can mix the cereal with breast milk or formula and make it super watery at first. Good Luck!
Between Nestle and Heinz, I would choose Heinz simply because Nestle is decidedly unethical. As for the quality of product they are likely identical.
It is probably too early to start on the cereal, especially commercial one. You can continue to Breastfeed, can introduce foods like avocado in a little while as an addition, you can create your own cereal once your baby a bit older, like grinded organic brown rice, or oatmeal, grinded buckwheat. But simply do not rush it, and definetly try to avoid big manufacturer’s names, it is healthier to do your own from whole foods.
