Quite a while ago I think someone scanned a copy of Glenn Doman’s brachiation ladder plans onto this forum. It’s from the Physically Superb book. I’ve searched & searched but can’t find it. If anyone knows where it is I’d love a link
I actually have a copy of that book but I’ve recently misplaced it.
That’s not exactly what I’m looking for but it’s very cool!
I gotten 2 ladders done now! Each of my 2 younger daughters now have one. Here’s a link to my very easy brachiation ladder tutorial if anyone is interested:
I did get my brachiate in ladder done & as far as space, we didn’t really have a lot but I put it alongside dd’s loft bed. You could even suspend it over a regular kids bed & I’ve even heard of parents putting it over their own beds to save space.
you did an amazing job! Thank you for posting that tutorial, I am sure it will come handy for many on the Forum.
We were lucky to get our outdoor brachiation ladder second hand from Doman Institute Graduate ( they made it themselves and modified it quite a bit from the original model in the book)
And for inside the house we got the indoor gym, which was one of the best investments we’ve made, it is like this one – http://ivasik.ua/cat/2860/product/30418/, but we have double of Rope Ladders, gymnastic rings, trapeze, climbing ropes. Simply because when our 2 oldest playing on it, they always need to exercise on exactly same piece of equipment as their sibling  :nowink: Plus it is more fun with additional climbing possibilities.
We also set up 2 bookcases right next to it and when the kids want to get smth from the top shelves they just make their way up there using their gym
Under it we put sport mat, it is firm, but provides good protection for accidental fall. When they dont climb they are sitting there and reading the books
I think climbing, balance and brachiation exercises are great for young children on so many different levels. Since they started using it quite young ( 9 months and 1 y o), they got pretty good at it. Apart from some obvious benefits, one that I personally very thankful for – they are able to climb about everything on various playgrounds without me being worried about their safety or having to continually run to the rescue ( as so many other parents there). Even when they fall, they dont get hurt, because they figured out the safe ways to do that from a young age.
In addition I love that our indoor gym is made from wood, 3 years later and it still smells heavenly
Love that Skylark! I have some rings, a hanging bar & a swing to attach to ours but that gives me some more ideas! I love how compact that one is but still has so many activities.
Yes, yes, you can attach them and then move them around as well, depending on the need. Rope ladder is incredible for balance and strength training, it seems so easy but it is quite a challenge!
