Brain food

Hi ALL,
I want to know what is brain food which ehances the brain or memory…I know we can use flaxseeds and fish oil …But we are vegetarian so I cant give fish to my son…Can somebody share there opinion regarding this…

Flaxseed is from a plant. You can use it in a vegetarian diet.

Back when i was a vegeterian :wink: i used to mix carbs and legumes. So I would have rice and lentils, or corn with beans etc.
I’m not sure if what i give my daughter is the best to help her brain, but i certainly know what NOT to give her.

All i can think of for now is that she gets a small square of very dark chocolate (85%) every other day. That’s about the only sugary food she gets from me, and I think it’s good for her mood.

Hi, We are fair weather vegetarians :smiley: Actually we don’t love meat like we used to but we basically decided it was too expensive! Then eventually we preferred a vegetarian diet. We have 2 boys 6 and 8 and I think about this often. I read someplace that Red kidney bean are really good they have more protein than black and dark red kidney beans even more protein is good for brain function.

Lady Xeona posted a clip on Youtube a few days ago (username ladyxeona) about how she helped her daughther lady become a genius. The clip is all about what she eats in a usual day. Lots of brain food. Hopefully she’ll read this and comment or post the clip here…

I do think it is most important to focus on what NOT to give kids- such as candy, soda, and fast food.
Unhealthy food not only makes the body unhealthy but also the brain- the healthier the food then the healthier the brain and then the better it will function.
It is a challenge to be 100% healthy in our day and time …so just making an effort towards the top is the best anyone could strive for. Even organic seedless grapes are dipped in chemicals.
We are trying really hard to be vegetarian and someday hope to be vegan. I have found that the most important part of any meal is the veggies. My kid is not up to par if she has not had her veggies for the day.
I will be putting up another video soon of some more of Lady Xeona’s favorite meals.
