Bilingual baby with Down Syndrome

Hi Everyone,

I am the mother of a 4 year old boy and of a 3 month old baby. Our little baby has Down Syndrome. He is being raised bilingual (We are french but live in a Spanish speaking country). I am thinking using the LR system to help speech development of our little one, and to attempt to make sure that he is learning both languages efficiently. I read in several places that the LR can help speech development of Down Syndrome kids. Does anybody have experience in teaching two languages through LR to kids? There is no spanish version. Can we do the translation ourself?
Thanks.

Regards,

Hello AngelineB and Welcome to the forum!

I am not an expert on the topic but we are using LR for teaching our 10 month old baby English and Chinese. He is also learning his native language (Finnish). I have not translated LR files to Finnish but I am saying the word in Finnish when we use LR English. I am not certain how this is optimally done though

Other users have already translated some LR files to Spanish and you can download them from here:

Here was also a thread of translating file by yourself:
