When do you think your child is most receptive to learning throughout the day? I have read a little about what some experts say on the matter, but was curious about what others real-life experiences have been? Thanks!
I know experts say in the morning, but my little guy is not a morning person. He needs hours to wake up and is easily frustrated until he is fully awake. His best times are probably after his afternoon nap or right around/before lunch time.
yeah, I was thinking the same thing. My daughter is always more cranky in the mornings and doesn’t even eat as well until after her morning nap.
My daughter gets up at 05:00am every morning, and although she probably would learn well at this time, I am not exactly in a state to teach her anything because I am so tired. For me her best time is after her morning nap (about 10:30am) and around lunch time (13:00) If she does have an afternoon nap too (very seldom) then she will have another good session late afternoon (16:30 or so)
I guess I am not too good at schedules. I just try to find good times through out the day when dd is in a happy mood. Mainly after naps.
I’m with you kmum. I have a loose schedule for everything else, but I do not schedule learning time. It is done when Gabriel is in a good mood and is receptive to learning. Sometimes he just doesn’t want to do it, and sometime he asks for it, no matter what time of the day it is.
For us, morning is the magic time that Glenn Doman talks about.
Our guy wakes up VERY hunger and VERY ready to learn.
Unfortunately, I don’t wake up very ready to teach that often.
