baby is more interested in smashing the keyboard

Hi
My almost 6 month old would rather smash at the keyboard and pull at wires than to sit through a full session. She had previously sat through them but now shes so distractable…any help?

Sounds familiar  my baby does the same. She loves inspecting the laptop and press all the keys.

We usually play a fisher price “baby online game” for a couple of minutes. She can hit all the keys to her heart’s content and loves it. After a few minutes she had enough and is ready to learn some words.

Before she was less mobile! Now she is in her next developmental stage, and explores her new abilities. It is also easy for baby to loose interest in some activities that they prior enjoyed ( and then re-gain in!) while they exploring their new abilities, like sitting, standing, crawling, walking. There will be more stages like that, so just be patient and keep your learning fun! Keep it moving, possibly put the computer father away and keep sessions short, interact, make it fun!

Just put your laptop a bit farther on the desk and set the multisensory lessons on auto-forward . That’s what I do… my DS keeps tapping at the table instead while carefully watching his lessons. You can use another table if your desk is narrow.

Hi there,

This link is grate.

My 8 month-old also would rather touch the keyboard. I remove the keyboard, he’d rather bang on the desk. I let him do this for a few minutes, and then he’s ready for his lessons!

Get an HDMI cable if you have a laptop or the cord will reach to your desktop and put the lessons on a big TV. Hide a wireless mouse you can click with your hand or set the lessons on autoforward, or show them to baby during meal/snack time while they are in a high chair.

Good Luck!
