ANyone teaching the human body if so what resources are you using?

Hi Everyone,

Im trying to find some kid friendly human body books or resources that are relaitively detailed? Anyone using anything?

KIm

I just had a glimpse at the book called Human body by basher.
http://basherbooks.com/uk/aboutbooks.html

It says recommended age 10+. The font was big, simple sentences and pictures. Check out if it suits you.

The Flip Flap body book http://www.amazon.com/Flip-Flap-Body-Book-Flaps/dp/0794506186/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1306415933&sr=8-1 I used with my 3 year old and she gained a lot from it and it was fun. It is quite detailed though does not cover the whole body - it does the digestive system, having a baby and the senses.

Great link Hypatia! Thanks. My son is into the human body now.

Kimba - we used:

The Cat in the Hat’s Learning Library

  • Inside your outside

Peter Weatherall

  • Human biology DVD

They Might Be Giants:

  • The Blood Mobile song

I also got my son a toy replica of the skull and human skeleton (which is a pretty accurate recreation). It is by Ein-O. They also have other models. Check them out here:

We bought a human body book which is probably a little too advanced for him right now, but I just show him the pictures and talk him through it making references back to other stuff we’ve seen in simpler books.

For some reason I could not connect to this link to post it last night. But it worked today

There is a really cute stuffed human body model out of velcro with removable organs, I know I shared it a while back. Let me look through and try to find it for you.
