advice for a 12 week old

Hi all, I asm following the Doman method of teaching and introducing and retiring old words. However. my baby is only 12 weeks old and I was not sure I was retiring the words too early. Doman says not to repeat the words once retired, but does that mean she will never see “mommy, daddy, Gina etc” again?

Your advice would be much appreciated!

Nope. The retired words will come into play while you do couplets. Once you do a considerable amount of single words, say 50 or more, you can form couplets with the old words like “good mommy” “my daddy” etc. These couplets are shown for 5 days or even less, 3 times a day. You can retire one couplet and add a new one everyday. You will also do single words simultaneously. You can later switch on to phrases and sentences with the old words. That way, you get to review the old words. Amidst all this, you will continue to show single words daily as you do now.

Thanks, that’s just the solution I needed! Thanks Questers
