activity inspiration

sometimes i hit a mental block on what to do with my dd and need a little inspiration. so i was thinking that we could sort of introduce our children by what they like to do as inspiration for other parents on activities to try. obviously, we have an awesome list of websites growing by leaps and great products for tv time but what about the other times? and these are for learning or play time ideas, no restrictions!

favorite books: Hop on Pop, Rumplestiltskin, Sleeping Beauty, Vroom-a-loom Zoom-a-loom, The little House, Make way for Ducklings
favorite indoor activities: Free play in playroom, Painting at easel, Kumon cutting/writting workbooks, playing with cars/tools/doctor kit, lincoln logs, duplos, legos, helping mom cook
favorite outdoor activities: swimming, walking
favorite field trips: hiking
if you make your own activities what is your favorite recipe/tip: Give him scissors, colored paper, markers and a glue stick and let him make a collage.

favourite books: baby einstein cats birds dogs, the 3 bears.
favourite indoor activities: aligning toys, running around my dining room table, playing with fridge magnets, loves his cars. loves writing
favourite outdoor activities: exploring, running, playing on activity gym.
favourite field trips: the zoo.
own activities : i use food items like lentils for pouring, jelly for texture, rice etc.

favorite indoor activities: Dumping her tea set , running around , “reading”, feeding and diapering her stuffed toys,

favorite outdoor activities: feeding birds, stopping to smell the flowers…literally every flower, chasing innnocent little puppies

if you make your own activities what is your favorite recipe/tip: I made a little coin box out of an oatmeal container and made 2 slits just enough for a coin to slide and she loves putting her coins in it. great for co-ordination.

what has been on your to-do list for so long you think it might never get done (and i mean child oriented! ): sticking and pasting stuff/ purposeful pre-writing like join dots. So that she can work on Kumon books when she is 2 Many sensorial activities for music and smell

thanks for joining in! it is so much fun to hear about your little ones… big giggles for the little boy who likes to run around the dining room table! and the little girl who likes dumping her tea set (oh, we know that trick!)

favorite books: Richard Scary Word Book, anything D.W. (Marc Brown/Arthur series), The Little Engine That Could, anything Boynton and When We Were Very Young (she calls them Po-Ams)
favorite indoor activities: markers (color wonder paper is my hero!), crayons, craft foam letters, playing with rice/noodles and dishes (playing in the sink).
favorite outdoor activities: side walk chalk paint, balance beam, sand box, push bike, water, bubbles, going for bike rides with dad.
favorite field trips: park, local farm/petting zoo, library
if you make your own activities what is your favorite recipe/tip: side walk chalk paint- equal parts corn starch to water, tempura paint and a couple of foam brushes! brilliant!
