3.8 Yrs Old & Nutcrackers from SoftMozart

Hi Parents,

We would like to share few video’s which has played by my son Shanthosh Sivam 3.8 Yrs old little boy from the SoftMozart Nutcrackers.

Really we were not aware of H (Hide option) in SoftMozart. We came to know about this option 10 days before only. It is really very useful option. Earlier we use to play few small songs from memory as a free play method and we struggled to play big songs from memory. Even though he tries to play these songs we were not sure whether he is playing correctly.

Now we came to know that he is playing most of the small and big songs from the memory using the hide option correctly. Today we tried to play Nutcrackers and Fuer Elise songs by memory (hide) and he played 80 to 90% correctly. It is really amazing to us. We were worried before whether we can make him to memories. Now SoftMozart did it in a very easy way. Thanks Hellene for this option.

What a great job he is doing! I have a 3 year old using soft Mozart as well, he is still working on the introductory songs with both hands though. When did your little boy start?

Wow, that’s incredible! Awesome. I too would like to know when you started, and how much practice he does every day. I can see that I need to get cracking. Thanks for the motivation.

Thanks Parents,

I don’t have any musical background. We have started on March 2012 when he was 2.6 Yrs old with lot of confusion. Every day we practice for 1 to 1.5 hrs. We are getting more motivation and support from Hellene for this success.

Jothi.

Jothi, Kudos to both of you! I have a 3 years old as well but he resists a lot to play keyboard. How do you encourage or motivate Santosh to play for 1 to 1.5 hours? Also, you said in one of your previous posts that Santosh learned to use all fingers to play all octaves after the initial five finger exercise. Right now, my son uses the five fingers exercise and I am at a loss as how to proceed further.

Did you let your son to play any of the SM songs according to his convenience, using any of the fingers for any of the keys? Or did you follow some strict finger exercises like Hanon?

Jothi, we were anticipating to see your baby among our recital participants… Are you planning submit any videos?

This is an entire education about how to teach toddlers to play piano, read music, develop ear, voice and memory. The best way to start is to read ‘You CAN be a musician book’ and the articles written by Hellene. Here is the most helpful one: https://softmozart.com/forum/20-hellene-hiners-blog/4565-lets-write-a-new-book.html
