We are very happy to share few of the piano videos which 3.5 years old Shanthosh Sivam played. We were started the Musical journey on end of March 2012 using SoftMozart now he can recognize the sounds of whole Piano (88 Keys) and other than that he can translate more than 45 instrumental sounds individually from the music keyboard.
Congrats Mom and Son! A splendid job! I couldn’t view all the videos as I am at work currently. But have watched a few and his concentration is absolutely amazing.
I understood from your previous posts that you don’t know how to play piano. I am facing the same difficulty while teaching SM to my son. So, I would like to know how you taught your son to play all these songs with proper fingering. Did you take the help of a personal piano tutor or were you able to manage yourselves? If so, can you share me the fingering approaches and other elements.
Thanks Arvi and Iris. We are not sending him to any tutor class. We just followed the instruction only from the SoftMozart. Initially we thought only five fingers exercise. Going forward he himself learned the convenient figure while playing the piano. Please refer the SoftMozart vedio link for teach the Piano for your kid. That will give you lot of ideas and clarification. And you can post your query over there. Sure Hellene will help you to understand better.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post them here. Looking forward to more updates. I have had the program for over a year now and plan to start this summer.
Oh he is doing soooo well! Wonderful! You are such a good teacher mummy
The teaching videos on the softmozart website are great for correcting fingers and just seeing different interpretations. I have used them when I get stuck tripping over fingers in a piece. Personally I don’t really care what fingers I or my kids use so long as it makes sense in toms of flow and they can play the piece.
Also if you do ACTUALLY PRACTICE the fingering techniques on the softmozart website you will start to automatically use the correct fingers as you play.
