Good thread. I like the suggestions of all the members. Thanks for sharing this thread with me.

Hello.
I had asked a question about right brain method classes but no one answerd :frowning:
here in Iran we dont have access to this kinds of classes…unless one institute that after I searched about, I found it not usefull because trainers there are not professionals.

even I decided to have a travel to malaysia when I get pregnant and attend these classes…

so I need all your mothers helps who are going to the classes.pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee answer me.

my questions:

  1. what is the difference between Heguru , Shichida and Tweedlwink? and according to your experiences which one is better?

  2. how many sessions are classese held for prenatal classes? for example can I come to malaysia for about one or two weeks and finish the courses? or the classes continue until the end of pregnancy(for example one session a week)?

  3. the shichida class that is held here, is about just five sessions and just parents attend and learn what to do at home to stimulate right part of brain.and the parents do what they have learnt at home with their babies. are your classes like this?

please somone answer me. I need your helps

(sorry about my weak english)

Hi Aysa,

Sorry for the late reply. Missed your message.

Heguru and Shichida are very similar because both are from the same origin and then they parted ways and continued their own schools. TW is slightly different. They still follow some principles taught by Shichida but they have also incorporated Montessori based activities into their program.

At present, there are no prenatal classes available - none to my knowledge, but you may have to enquire at the centers again to see if that has changed since I checked. Not being pregnant, this is no longer relevant to me.

The classes here are for the children and they are ongoing. They do have courses that teach the parents what to do at home to reinforce what the children learn in class. For more information about the activities for developing right brain, you are welcome to read the articles on my site:

www.figur8.net/right-brain-training-home-practice-guide/
www.figur8.net/baby/2010/07/27/right-brain-activities-for-home-practice-part-1/

Oh, as for which is best… that really depends on your individual preference. If you speak to enough parents, they will tell you that the school they attend is the best.

Hope that helps.

thank you very much dear shenli
an other question is: do Heguru or shichida have DVDs? my husband is going to Swiss(related to his job). I want to tell him to buy right brain method and early learning products( like LR and LM…).
please give me a complete list of products I can use for right brain and early learning.
thank you

Hi there,

I have a 1 year girl, started a month ago on LM,LC & LM.
Should I send her to any Schicida or Heguru classes or any
other recommendations ? What are their fees like & are they effective ?

Regards

Hi Aysa,

Heguru has a DVD but it is in Japanese and they don’t sell it. Shichida does have some CDs but you have to be a member to buy them (i.e. your child has to attend their school). Alternatively, if you know a parent who attends their school and is willing to buy them on your behalf, you can also purchase them that way. Unfortunately, I cannot help you with that because my children do not attend shichida.

As for products, there is a lot you can make on your own and others you can purchase online. I have a list on my website:

http://www.figur8.net/resources/right-brain/

There are other sites online that sell products, too, but they are Chinese websites that I cannot read - iBaby is one of them.

Hi Latreia,

Shichida, Heguru or TweedleWink, it really depends on you and your child. They are all effective if followed properly. Fees for each class is around RM400 per month, plus minus depending on whether you opt for the weekend class or weekday class. There are additional fees such as deposit, registration, utility - some one off, some refundable, some yearly payments. I have the fee structure for Shichida here (not sure why I never did one for TW or Heguru but they are roughly the same plus minus):

http://figur8.net/baby/2010/05/04/scouting-out-shichida/

There are some testimonials for tweedlewink here (both Shichida and Heguru also have their own testimonials from parents which you can find on their websites - www.heguru.com.my, and www.shichidamethod.com/index.html):

Dear shenli, thank you for your answer.
your website is great and was usefull for me very much.

I am like many others who don’t happen to live near to any of the heguru/shichida centre, so my kids have no chance to attend.

i have friends who sent their kids to learn abacus and shichida etc, i strongly believe the right brain classes work brilliantly and will benefit the kids in great extent. but there is something we should also take notice, the school educational system in Far East incl. Malaysia, Singapore, China, Taiwan, HK, etc are extremely academic and exam oriented, they care only about the grade, not others. so critical thinking skill and imagination are not emphasised lest appreciated. hopefully those kids who are so blessed to have attended the heguru/shichida will not be hindered by these school systems.

Intelligence is important, but lets not forget about the social skill and sport activities, a healthy and more rounded kid has always a better advantage to excel than those only good in studying.

Is there any plan to bring Heguru to the USA in the future? Thanks.

I live in an area where there’s no existing Right Brain Education School. I really wish Heguru and Shichida will develop an online class for children so that parents like me with no access to Right Brain Schools will still be able to train their children the Heguru or Shichida way. I do EL at home following Doman style and supplementing with Little Reader but sometimes I feel it’s not enough :frowning:

To m_rogue23,

I dont think this method is good to deliver online. Enough if its only a DVD to teach parents about home practice. Right brain education comes from the heart, they need the real voice of Sensei, the fun of doing IQ or physical activities which we cant get from online class. My daughter already joined Heguru since 2 months ago, so far I love the method and try my best to practice at home especially flash cards. After I understand the abilities of right brain, I agreed that Heguru brings the best implementation of the right brain learning for children. Shichida doesnt have the speed like Heguru, because only one teacher in the class while Heguru can give you fast flow of teaching because there’s an assistant to organize the materials so sensei can just focus on teaching
