I used BabyPlus with my son, but I wasn’t able to finish it since he had to be taken 6 weeks premature.
He did fairly well for a 6 week preemie–they told us that he would probably be in NICU for 6 weeks and he was only in 2 (1/3 of the time we were dreading him spending there). After he got out of NICU, he developed so quickly, rolling over at 8 weeks and generally making great progress…I, personally, think BabyPlus helped and I would use it again.
There are four new articles, including Prenatal Milestones (how your baby’s senses gradually come to life), the Womb Environment (how to optimize it), and Stimulating the Senses - which tells you how you can stimulate your unborn baby.
Re. BabyPlus, it should now be much clearer from the Brent Logan article what the lessons consist of as well as how the system is supposed to work.
From my personal experience, I honestly can’t say whether it worked because I have nothing to compare with. Of course if you have several children, and the only child you used BabyPlus with is noticeably different, then I can understand your being a believer.
My daughter Naimah was unusually alert after she was born though. She was very aware of everything around her and the pediatrician remarked on it right away. He said something like, “Wow, those extra 10 days really make a difference!” Because you see, Nim was 10 days late. She was not only more aware, she was much bigger than the other babies (the biggest in the hospital at the time). She seemed much less fragile and newborn than the others. Her eyes were wide open and her cry was as loud as a foghorn. The other babies had screwed-up faces and mewed like tiny kittens.
Anyway, I hope the pregnant ladies enjoy the new prenatal section! I would love to hear your feedback too.
I am using Babyplus this time around, and I find it quite annoying. I’m bored by it… if I were the baby I’d be wanting something more exciting to listen to than that. And my friends say the same thing when they visit when I’ve got the monitor going. I’ll try to find an old walkman, pop it in the pouch and play music cassettes.
You know, you only are supposed to play it for a short time every day. By all means, play some music too! I did! I played music every night when I went to bed, plus I read stories.
supposed to use it twice a day and it goes for an hour each time. Its really loud and I start hearing sentences like that drum pattern over and over in my mind. Like" get a cookbook" and stupid silly sentences that fit with the beat. It drives me bananas. Not very relaxing!
Hi, I am 26 weeks pregnant and have been using BabyPlus since week 17, I am looking forward to meeting my baby and seeing if it has any impact. I am going to try to get a copy of the Dr Seuss book too. I am struggling with the music concept as I am not really into listening to music and have been trying to find something I like which is calming to start playing to baby so I can use it with them once they are born. I love readiong stories from others about BabyPlus as some of the results sound fantastic.
I am new to the forum and this topic looks quite old, I have a question though and I hope there will be s.o to respond
I am interested in babyplus (after having read all the articles and the reviews about it) but I am wondering if the sound isn’t annoying for the mom. I usually can’t handle such sounds and I will eventually have headaches… Maybe that will make me feel more stressed… Therefore, may it have an indirect negative impact on the fetus (mom’s stress) though it’s more likely to have a positive direct one (the early learning effect)?
Plus, isn’t annoying for people around who will also hear the sound as it is so loud?
Thanks for your response. I am quite skeptical regarding this product. I may buy it only if I find a good opportunity on ebay or so. It won’t hurt to try it and just stop using it if it really gets annoying…
